The Story of the Bible

The Bible may seem confusing and foreign, but it becomes much easier to understand when you see that it tells a story—a big story that overarches all the little stories there are. The Bible begins with Creation, God’s work of making the universe and mankind. It continues, sadly, with the Fall, man and woman’s rebellion against their creator. But it climaxes with Jesus Christ, who brings Redemption to the world.

FIVE MILE BAPTIST CHURCH

is meeting for Morning Worship on Sundays at 10:30 and on Wednesday Evenings at 7:00 for a Bible Study/Prayer Meeting. Three Bible Studies meet weekly through Zoom.  As things are constantly changing, we will continue to monitor the situation and make decisions accordingly.

Four ways people can participate in our Sunday Morning Service:    Inside the building following distancing guidelines, tuning in to 87.7 FM in our church parking lot, watching Pastor’s message as it is livestreamed on our Five Mile Baptist Church Facebook page,  or watching the message here on our website when it posts around noon.  We hope you will tune in for a time of encouragement in the Word together.

We pray you will continue to find ways to encourage and “stir up one another to love and good works”, as Hebrews 10:24-25 also commands. Additionally, we encourage you to:

– Join us in praying for one another, our community and the world as a whole. God promises to give us peace when we bring everything to Him in prayer instead of being anxious (Philippians 4:6-7). Please visit our Five Mile Family Group Facebook page (different from our church page) to stay up to date on prayer requests, praises, and other “family” updates.

– Take this time to personally study and meditate on the Word. (Psalm 119)

– Use this time to be a light to those around you by your response to this situation. (Matthew 5:14-16)

– Continue to honor God in your giving as you’re able. (2 Corinthians 9:6-7) Tithes and offerings can be mailed to the church. You can also set up a one time or recurring transaction using your bank’s online services or mobile app. Simply find your bank’s “Bill Pay” feature and plug in the church’s mailing address. Your bank will then mail a check to the church. Mailing Address: Five Mile Baptist Church, 3624 5 Mile Rd., Allegany, NY 14706.

If there is any need please reach out via social media or by contacting Pastor Sanders or one of the Deacons directly.
